A bestselling toner, should you use it?

All that wine and rosé takes a toll on your skin so I had to get back to my skin care routine. I happened to be scrolling through the top selling beauty products on Amazon and saw a toner that I’m very familiar with. Hence, I was compelled to write about it.

A toner helps to tighten pores and create a smoother appearance on skin. Although I knew this before, I was reminded of my enlarged pores when I went to my makeover session with Il Makiage. As a result, I set out to shrink my pores as much as possible.

The Toner Truth

#3: Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe

Enter Thayer’s Witch Hazel. I’ve been using the Thayer’s Witch Hazel with Cucumber product on and off for a few years but honestly, besides drying out my skin (because witch hazel is strong) it just felt unnecessary. This resulted in my like/ dislike relationship of the Thayer’s Cucumber witch hazel.

Is Cucumber the same as The Rose Petal?

To use it, I applied a few drops on a cotton ball and then passed it over a freshly clean face. I may have caused the overdrying effect using two strong cleansers but it definitely cleaned my face. After using the toner, I still saw brown or what I presumed to be dirt all over the cotton ball.

I could just imagine if I didn’t use it, all that dirt would still be oozing from my pores with nowhere to go.

Witch Hazel is also good at controlling my oily skin but is the cucumber better than the Rose Petal? So far, they’re essentially the same.

However, as I scrolled down further I noticed they were the same toner on the list possibly by different sellers and with different prices.

#7: Thayer’s Rose Petal Toner

Coming in at #7 again, the Thayer’s Toner made it twice on the list. Definitely a must try, despite my original feelings. If you read my Trader Joe’s Rose water Review, you’d know I’m eagerly searching for a rose water miracle so I can reap the amazing benefits. Since I switched from the Cucumber to the Rose Petal, I’ll make sure to update this post with any new effectiveness.
