10 Minute Facial

It’s been a wonderful start to the new year! I finally hit 1k followers on YouTube 🥳… So celebration post coming soon.

Hope your 2020 has been as amazing as you are.

Moving on, have you been taking care of yourself? Remember in the last post, ‘New Year, New You, The One Resolution You should stick to,’ we spoke about taking care of ourselves first?… that includes your skin.

In 2020, my skin goals have continued to be the same…clear skin. This facial has helped me to see a reduction in dark marks and has put me on a path to cleaner skin.

You will need;

  • A Facial Massager
  • A face scrub (I used Trader Joe’s Acai Berry Facial Scrub
  • A hydrating face mask (I used PF Hydrating Aloe Mask)
  • A clay mask (Check my detoxifying pink clay post)

Step 1: Face Mask

Beginning with wet skin, apply your face mask to your skin. Leave on for about 5 minutes. If you’re using the pink clay mask, remember that clay is very drying to the skin.

However, Pink clay and Aztec clay masks draw out impurities, tightens pores, adds minerals to beautify your skin and more.

Step 2: Apply a hydrating face mask

After drying out your skin with the clay, you need to re-hydrate it with this face mask. I am no telling you to get a hydrating face mask, you can honestly use what you have at home; honey, aloe, and avocados are good for hydrating skin. Hopefully soon, I’ll post a homemade mask that I use.

However, the point remains that you need to put some moisture and minerals back into your skin after the first step. I used the facial massager to add in the nutrients for about 2 minutes.

Step 3: Exfoliate

Don’t skip your face scrub! Now that you have some minerals in your skin from step 2, exfoliating your skin should not feel as harsh.

It’s important to exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells and other impurities that can clog your pores.

Step 4: Warm Wet Towel

A hot towel opens up your pores allowing moisturizers to penetrate deeper. Simply soak your face towel in warm water, squeeze out excess water, then place on your face for about 3-5 minutes.

Step 5: Tone (Optional)

Toners are great for refining pores among other things. Check out my post for more about the importance of a toner.

  • This mask is not recommended for sensitive skin as it may be too abrasive.
  • Do this mask once a week or once a month depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
